Chattahoochee Deer Management Alliance
The CDMA is a Community led Non-Profit organization aimed to help coordinate a community's efforts to mitigate the problems associated with Deer over population.
Our Mission: The CDMA aims to provide targeted deer population reduction initiatives to help homeowners and communities along the Chattahoochee River corridor and other affected Metro Atlanta areas. Working with agencies, and local communities, the CDMA focuses on reducing deer populations, organizing venison donations to local food banks, mentoring new sportsmen, promoting conservation, as well as ethical hunting practices. These efforts target improved public safety, effective wildlife management, and hunger relief.

The Chattahoochee Deer Management Alliance is a Georgia nonprofit Corporation focused on wildlife management, hunger relief, outdoor education, and community engagement. Through ethical bowhunting practices and partnerships, it addresses deer overpopulation and organizes venison donations through the Georgia Wildlife Federations Hunters for the Hungry program to food-insecure families via local food pantries. The CDMA introduces new hunters, especially youth and veterans, the outdoors via our organized "Field Days" to create lasting memories along side experienced sportsmen (and women). We collaborate with municipalities and landowners / managers to identify targeted locations for their site specific deer reduction programs.
This CDMA speaks three languages at once:
-
Conservation
-
Compassion
-
Common sense
It avoids politics, focuses on outcomes, and gives communities a practical solution to a real problem.

The North Atlanta Chattahoochee River corridor is facing an overpopulation of deer, leading to various issues. However, every problem presents an opportunity for solutions.
A recent survey of Peachtree Corners (PTC) residents shows that deer densities in the city have exceeded acceptable levels (Peachtree Corners 2025). The CDMA was established to help reduce deer populations, introduce new sportsmen to hunting, and provide venison to those in need locally. This organization aims to fulfill some of the study's recommendations in a fun, organized, and practical way.
Based on the camera survey, deer density in PTC (193 deer/mi2) is almost eight times the
generally recommended density of ≤ 25 deer/mile. Regulated public archery hunting is an economical option for long-term management of
suburban deer populations (Williams et al. 2013). Excerpts taken from PTC deer study 2025

You will have 1 or 2 CDMA Sportsman that will work with you to thin the herd throughout the season and on Field days. We will be happy to answer any questions you have.
Field days!
Come Hunt with us!
If you are a young person, first time hunting adult or a veteran we will be having a draw to have you hunt with one of our mentors. We will hold field days throughout the season were you may be able to hunt with an assigned mentor. They will help you practice, get ready and hunt along side you and a friend. Field days will also serve as a deer donation day for any and all local hunters to donate a deer to the Hunters for the Hungry program. We will have the GA Wildife federation freezer trucks on site to donate your deer.

The Alliance Team
We are a group of Experienced local Sportsmen (Women) that live in and care about our Community, it's Citizens and it's Wildlife. We love sharing our passion and knowledge of the outdoors with other people who might not have the opportunity to explore Bowhunting. We are community leaders that saw a need to organize and connect existing agencies, communities and Sportsmen to come together in an alliance for the benefit of our Community.
Happy Hunters / First Deer Club
